Lindsay Lohan go to jail again

Superior Court Judge Elden Fox ordered the 24-year-old actress, who was convicted in 2007 of drunken driving and cocaine possession, held without bail and set her hearing for October 22.

Spokesmen for the Los Angeles courts and its jails said Lohan would remain behind bars the entire time and would not be released due to overcrowding, as she has been in the past.

In August, the "Mean Girls" actress served two weeks of a 90-day jail sentence and 22 more days in a residential drug treatment program when a different judge ruled she violated probation for the same charge.

After being released from rehab, Lohan was subject to court-ordered drug tests. Late last week, Lohan sent out a series of messages on Twitter admitting she failed a test and saying she was working to overcome her substance abuse.

"Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test, and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before Judge Fox," Lohan tweeted last week.

On Monday, an arrest warrant was issued and Fox ordered she appear in his court on Friday.

Lohan attorney Shawn Chapman Holley was not immediately available to comment.

Websites around the world posted Lohan's mug photo, which showed the once promising star in an orange, prison-issued jumpsuit, a stark contrast to the sleek black designer jacket and white skirt she wore to court Friday morning.

TMZ.com said Holley told the celebrity news site outside the courthouse that Fox's decision was wrong, but independent attorneys said judges often denied bail in cases where a defendant violated probation.

"I don't see any way that is going to get changed," said Los Angeles defense attorney Steve Cron, who is not affiliated with any of the parties.

"She (Lohan) seemed from the beginning to have taken a very cavalier attitude that the rules don't apply to her, but when you violate probation, there are consequences," Cron said.

After bursting onto Hollywood's map in Disney movies like "Freak Friday" and "Herbie Fully Loaded," Lohan became a highly sought-after teenage star. She earned wide praise for her small part in director Robert Altman's "A Prairie Home Companion."

But soon after, Lohan began frequenting Los Angeles nightclubs and developed a reputation for partying. Her moves were documented nearly daily by the Hollywood paparazzi.

In May 2007, she crashed a Mercedes-Benz on the famed Sunset Boulevard. Police found cocaine in her car and arrested her on suspicion of drunken driving. Two months later, she was arrested again on similar charges.

Lohan pleaded no contest to two counts each of drunken driving and being under the influence of cocaine, and one count of reckless driving. She spent 84 minutes in jail, was released due to overcrowding and placed on three years probation.

Her probation was extended for a year after she missed some alcohol-education classes, and earlier this year, a judge found her guilty of violating probation by again missing such classes, leading to jail and rehab.

Paris Hilton halted from entering Japan

Paris Hilton appeared before Japanese immigration officials Wednesday morning to ask that they allow her to enter the country despite her drug conviction earlier this week, a Japanese official said.

The American celebrity socialite was stopped from entering the country Tuesday night, a day after she pleaded guilty to a drug charge in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to her spokesman.

Immigration officials allowed Hilton to spend the night at a hotel at the Narita airport so she could appeal their decision to bar her from the country, the Japanese official told CNN.

She was at the airport Wednesday morning for her hearing, the official said.

Japanese immigration rules general prohibit foreigners who are on probation for criminal offenses from entering the country, the official said.

Hilton traveled to Japan because of "business obligations planned many months earlier," her spokesman said.

"Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans," the spokesman said.

Hilton entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges of drug possession and obstruction of an officer, but a felony cocaine possession charge was dropped on Monday. She was sentenced to a year on probation, a $2,000 fine and 200 hours of community service.

She was arrested on the Las Vegas strip last month after she and her boyfriend were stopped by a motorcycle officer who smelled marijuana coming from their vehicle.

Hilton admitted in court Tuesday that a small amount of cocaine found in her pocketbook was hers.

Her spokesman said Hilton was "very disappointed" that she was prevented from entering Japan.

"She intended on fulfilling her contract and is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control," the spokesman said.

DWTS' Maksim: "I Would Love to Dance With Erin Again"

If Brandy wasn't so cool-headed, things could have gone terribly wrong last night when she Maksim Chmerkovskiy performed their Viennese waltz on Dancing With the Stars.

How happy are you about last night's show? You came in second with 23 points.
Very happy! I've been always telling Brandy that you just have to get the first show out of the way. I think she did an amazing job for the first time, for the nerves, and anxiety and all that stuff. I really enjoyed our dance.

Were there any missteps we didn't see?
There were missteps but I am absolutely amazed at how Brandy handled it. She missed a couple of steps and where normal people would freak out and go, "Oh my god. I can't believe I just did that," she totally went straight into the next move. I have confidence in her now that if something does go wrong, which it does sometimes, that she'll be able to recover.

What's up for you and Brandy next week?
We're doing the jive. We're still testing the waters out with Brandy to see what she's comfortable with, what she's going to be better at...She's a very versatile person with so many looks. She can just smile and look adorable and innocent and all that, but she has a hot and sassy side as well.

Were you surprised at how well Bristol did?
Bristol did great! I think Bristol has a lot to prove and she certainly tries her best. She shouldn't put pressure on herself. If there's no pressure, there are no expectations and she can just walk out and do her thing. I applaud her bravery for even being on the show.

Have you warned Brandy about about the romance rumors that will start about the two of you?
The rumors began before we even met! Brandy and I are cool. There's no romance. I know that we are going to be great, great, great friends. Like I've said before, I haven't won Dancing With the Stars, but I've won many friends. I remain extremely close with 90 percent of my past partners. Before the premiere yesterday, I got a text from Tia Carerre, Mel B and Denise Richards. It's just very inspiring and it's also very gratifying. But like I've said, this season is all about trying to win that trophy.


Will we ever see you and Erin dance again on the show?
I came back to dance with Mel for our 100th show. You never know, maybe they'll bring us back. I would love to dance with Erin again for sure if she would like to but at the moment right now, this very second, my mind is on what Brandy and I are going to be doing next week.


Why is everyone so obsessed with you and Erin and trying to figure out what was going on between the two of you?
I think we showed partnership beyond just the show. I've apologized to our fans because romance or not, they will probably never know because I'm a private person. I put out as much as I can on Twitter, my website, and my YouTube channel, but just to an extent. What Erin and I had is between me and Erin.

Paris Hilton: Detained in Asia and "Very Disappointed"

So much for putting it all behind her.

Yesterday, Paris Hilton pled guilty to a cocaine possession charge and jetted off to Asia on a previously planned business trip.

She was scheduled to make an in-store appearance in Tokyo Wednesday, but that's in jeopardy after she was detained upon landing at Japan's Narita Airport...

Hilton's rep confirms that immigration officials detained Paris upon arrival. Anyone on a suspended jail term (such as Hilton) is not allowed to enter Japan except for "special reasons," the Narita branch of the Tokyo immigration control office told local news agency Jiji.

"Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many fans Asian fans," her rep told E! News. "She intended on fulfilling her contract and is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control. She is very disappointed by tonight's events."

Paris and sister Nicky, who's in Japan with her, were all smiles when they first touched down.

"Just landed in Tokyo with my BFF/Sis @NickyHilton," she posted on Twitter, along with a pic of the smiling sisters.

Paris is reportedly staying in an airport hotel overnight while the situation gets sorted out, and she may return to the United States.

Justin Bieber: I'm enjoying the single life

He may seem to have it all, but there's one thing teen idol Justin Bieber has yet to acquire: a girlfriend. And that's just the way he likes it.

"Girlfriends are trouble at this age," the 16-year-old singing sensation told MTV News. "Girls are fun to hang out with but, like, having that one steady girl... we're constantly traveling and one girl's not gonna really [work]. You can't really have one girl. I don't really have any crushes at the moment."

That might come as a surprise to Kim Kardashian, who has had a playful, ongoing Twitter flirtation with Bieber since meeting him at the White House Correspondents Dinner in May. And didn't Bieber recently gush that he wanted to make a romantic comedy with Disney star Selena Gomez? Hmm…

In the meantime, Bieber said he's just enjoying the single life and being a kid. "The best thing is [that we're] just teenagers having fun doing what we love," said the chart-topper, who is also embarking on an acting career. "We're just staying ourselves and remaining humble."

Michael Jackson's mother sues concert promoter

The mother of pop star Michael Jackson has begun legal proceedings against concert promoter AEG, claiming it did not give her son proper medical care.

Katherine Jackson contends it failed to provide life-saving equipment and oversee a doctor who was hired to look out for the pop star's well-being.

Her legal action claims the singer was put under great pressure to complete the London concerts for which he was rehearsing at the time of his death.

AEG has yet to comment on the action.

Ms Jackson's civil action, which seeks unspecified damages, was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.

Kenny Ortega, director of the planned This is It series of concerts, was also named as a defendant.

Katherine Jackson contends that AEG and its agents told her son it would provide the equipment and hire Dr Conrad Murray to care for him so he could perform at the concerts in London.

Her action alleges its representations were false "because in reality AEG was merely doing whatever it took to make sure that Michael Jackson could make it to rehearsals and shows".

"At the time of his death, Michael Jackson was under the immediate care of a doctor selected by, hired by, and controlled by AEG," the complaint continues.

It claims the company "demanded and required" the singer be treated by Dr Murray, who is alleged to have administered a lethal dose of Propofol and other drugs which resulted in the pop star's death on 25 June 2009.

Dr Murray has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter and is expected to stand trial next year.

Katherine Jackson is the guardian of the singer's three children and is suing AEG on their behalf.

Her action claims Jackson's eldest son, Prince, suffered great trauma and severe emotional distress because he witnessed his father's final moments.

"The purpose of this lawsuit is to prove to the world the truth about what happened to Michael Jackson, once and for all," Katherine Jackson's lawyer said in a statement.

Earlier this year Jackson's father, Joe, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Dr Murray, accusing him of professional negligence.

Mr Murray's attorneys filed a motion on Wednesday seeking a dismissal of that action, which did not name AEG.
